James Stephens was born in Huddersfield, UK. He studied at The Royal Ballet School in London between 2004-2013, graduating with Honours.

 

In 2013, he joined the Wiener Staatsballett in Vienna and was promoted to Demi-Soloist in 2016 after dancing in works by legendary choreographers including Rudolf Nureyev, William Forsythe, Jiři Kylián, Manuel Legris, Joesph Lazinni, Sir Peter Wright, Roland Petit, John Neumeier, George Balanchine, Pierre Lacotte, Kenneth MacMillan and John Cranko. He has toured around the world including Japan, Norway, Italy, Switzerland, Russia.

 

In 2022, he moved to Copenhagen to join The Royal Danish Ballet and performed works by Gregory Dean, George Balanchine and John Neumeier.

 

He is currently living in London where he is studying personal training, rehabilitation and nutrition.
