Iván was born in 1989 in Seville, Spain. He began his dance studies at the age of 6 with the San Ildefonso Dance Group, where he prepared to enter the Professional Dance Conservatory of Seville. In 2006 he competed in the National Dance Competition in Castellon and won a one-year scholarship at the London Studio Centre (London). There he got to be part of the Images of Dance Company. In 2007 he was selected to become a student at English National Ballet School where he graduated in 2009. During his time in the school, he had the opportunity to work with English National Ballet and went on a national and international tour with the company. In 2009 he got his first professional contract with Scottish Ballet. Since then, he has been part of great companies such as Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, New English Ballet Theatre, Corella Ballet, Carmen Roche Ballet and Staatstheater Nürnberg Ballet.
Since 2019 he has worked internationally as a freelancer. Among his projects, Iván was a principal dancer in the production of Mon Premier Lac Des Cygnes at the Mogador Theater and Il était une fois Cassee-Noisette Théatre du Châtelet in Paris with Karl Paquette as artistic director. He has also participated in galas such as the Gran Gala Estrellas de la Danza directed by José Carlos Martinez, the Gala of Som Terra de Pues a Terra at the Teatro Principal de Maó (Menorca), and the Gala Mi Arraigo Vuestra Danza directed by Esteban Berlanga at the Teatro Circo (Albacete) among many others.
He is also a guest teacher at different schools such as Institut del Teatre, PAR Dansa (High Performance Programme), Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Sevilla Antonio Ruiz Soler and Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Cáceres among others.
