Christopher Thomas trained at the Royal Ballet School from 2008 and continued to the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, where he graduated in 2017.

Choreographing under his name, Christopher became a Young Associate Artist at Sadler’s Wells, choreographing for both stages in the theatre, his most notable work being To the Ocean Floor 2019, a working with long-term collaborator and composer Jordan Hunt, with whom he continues to develop new work. Their extensive collaborative portfolio includes a host of live and dance film works (Blood’s Thicker Than Water, The Three Visions, To the Ocean Floor: Dance Film Series). They are excited to be working on their first full-length production Within These Walls, the protagonist danced by Joseph Sissens (first soloist with The Royal Ballet). Christopher co-founded Retrospect Dance Theatre (2017-2018), for which he has danced and choreographed extensively, including the company’s first full-length work, In Light of Those You Love, which toured nationally and internationally through 2018. Following its success, he filmed and edited a redeveloped version, creating a feature-length film, which premiered at Whirled Cinema London. Other notable choreographic achievements include the Charlotte Kirkpatrick Award in 2016 and he was named Young Choreographer of the Year in 2017 (both Rambert School).

Christopher's multifaceted roles as a videographer, editor, and movement director encompass various notable projects, including the aforementioned In Light Of Those You Love feature (2018), To the Ocean Floor dance film series with Jordan Hunt (ongoing), The Three Visions dance film with Jordan Hunt (2023), Seeking the Unseen documentary series with Carolyn Bolton (2023), Circus of Desire music video (2024) for Grammy-nominated musician Olivia Chaney, Assistant Movement Director to Masumi Saito on Love Lost music video (2023) for Alto Arc with Isamaya Ffrench, a choreographic process documentary film with Liam Francis and Hugo Dalton (2024) for their new Royal Opera House commissioned live work. Christopher is excited to be working on a new documentary film with Carolyn Bolton following their previous work.
