After graduating from Cardiff University, (gaining a BMus in Music) David went on to complete a Master’s degree in Film Music Composition at the London College of Music. He has since worked in many areas of the music profession, as a music composer and arranger.

He has written music for Film, TV, Modern Dance and Ballet and has worked with many ensembles including the London Symphony Orchestra, BalletCymru and The National Dance Company of Wales.

He wrote the music score for Ballet Cymru’s modern ballet production of ‘Beauty and The Beast which toured the UK and Italy.

He recently composed the music score for a short dance & mixed media film, inspired by the stories shared by ex-service women based in the UK. This project was funded by Art Council England and National Lottery Funding.

He has just finished working on the 2nd stage (R&D) of an exciting new multi-media dance project which brings together an eclectic mix of art forms and the latest AR & VR technologies.

Fusing live performance and cutting-edge immersive technology, ‘GORLWYTH’ explores the themes of 'overload' and our inherent need to find stillness & space in a fast-paced world and will aim to explore and develop a unique immersive audience experience.


David worked as assistant composer and music editor on the PBS documentary ‘400 Years of The Telescope’. The score was recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, London.


Working within schools in support of music educational projects, he has also received commissions to compose and adapt musical theatre pieces for projects developed and funded by the Arts Council of Wales.
