Susannah grew up in Leamington Spa, UK where most of her spare time was spent in a dance studio. She went on to complete a BA (Hons) in Business Management and Tourism at UWE in Bristol and started her career working for a Tour Operator in London. Ten years later, she took a change of path and, re-kindling her love of dance, she joined the Development Office at Sadler’s Wells. That marked the start of a second career and, following a relocation to Suffolk, she joined an organisation which at the time was known as Suffolk Dance. Over the 2 decades that she spent with that organisation which became known as DanceEast, she gained vast experience across all aspects of the industry.

She worked directly with Assis Carreiro, who at that time was Artistic Director & Chief Executive , on the strategy and execution of the Capital Campaign to raise £9 million to build a new Dance House on the Ipswich Waterfront.

Susannah also project managed the Rural Retreats Programme, a series of international think tanks supporting dance leadership for existing and future Artistic Directors; three ChoreoLabs for The National Centre for Choreography established at the Dance House; Britten Dances, a joint production with the Royal Ballet, Royal Ballet Flanders and Aldeburgh Music and Snape Dances, an international dance series at Snape Maltings Concert Hall.

In recent years, she was responsible for the delivery of professional dance performances in and beyond the Dance House and for overseeing the professional development of dance artists including the Associate Artists’ Scheme.

Since 2020 Susannah has been working as a Freelance Dance Administrator representing choreographers, designers and composers and supporting International and UK based arts projects.Profile info
