Shevelle’s dance career began with classes at Primary School in Brixton, London, attracting the attention of the Royal Ballet’s scouts for inclusion in their outreach programme Chance to Dance and the Royal Ballet School Junior Associates Programme. He successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet Lower School in 1997 and remained with the School until 2005 in 2004 Shevelle won the bronze medal in the in the Royal Academy of Dance Adeline Geneé Competition. In 2005 joined English National Ballet as a company artist, Performing in all there productions.

Shevelle is recognised by his roles for English National Ballet productions of, The Nutcracker as the Mouse King, The Moor in Fokine’s Pertrushka.

Whilst at English National Ballet Shevelle worked with their outreach team and has been involved in there Roadshows and worked with ENB youth company. He has also gone back worked with the Royal Ballet’s Chance to Dance to help inspire the next generation and to see more closely how these initiatives are implementing change.

Shevelle has the honour of being recognised as a role model by the National Portrait Gallery, London, in Simon Frederick’s 2016 work, which is in there permanent archive. In 2022 was appointed Patron to All England Dance and in the same year he received Black Cultural Archives Future leader award in Arts and Entertainment.

Shevelle has worked with the British High Commission Seychelles and The National Conservatoire of Performing Arts. to curate a workshops for children from local communities.

Shevelle now a freelance Artist and attended Identity school of acting. He also appears in Netflix’s Bridgerton Season 2.

Shevelle has appeared in high fashion magazines and work with renowned photographers including David La Chappelle and Rankin. He has been featured in music videos, commercials and has performed on main stages at various festivals including Glastonbury.
